Alex introduces a number of jazz, blues, pop and love songs to create a unique atmosphere at any event

Having just returned from Queen Mary 2 as an Entertainment Technician traveling around the world Alex is now branching out and going back to his original roots in performing. Having originally aspired to be a great performer onstage in the west end Alex quickly became amazed and transfixed with the world of backstage helping with his local amateur companies and school productions in a variety of technical capacities eventually turning Professional in 2009. At the age of 5 Alex made his first appearance onstage for Eydon players as a rat for the production of Dick Whittington. Since then Alex has appeared onstage occasionally for a number of different amateur shows both as a singer and musician. From the Age of 11 Alex studied the piano and trumpet achieving a number of grades in each instrument. When Alex was 16 he stopped playing the trumpet and also stopped taking piano lessons although this never stopped his growing ambition to eventually become both a performer and musician. Having redirected his musical talent to the piano, Alex never stopped playing and would often practice for hour’s everyday trying many different styles of music to eventually find his favourite genre Jazz and Blues. In September 2007 Alex moved away from Banbury to Winchester to study at Fareham College focusing his career as being a Sound Engineer. Whilst at college, Alex auditioned to perform in a student theatre production of ‘Return to The Forbidden Planet’ and gained the lead role of Captain Tempest. With this great part Alex started to learn the many Rock n’ Roll songs and dialogue which proved the hardest part of all due to the quick change from modern to Shakespearian language within one sentence. For this show Alex was also tasked with playing keyboard 3 onstage for a number of different songs and after a long rehearsal period the opening night finally came to a sell out audience. After this appearance for the college, Alex was asked again to take the lead role in the College touring production and later in house version of ‘Honk the musical’ a adaptation of the famous children’s story ‘The Ugly Ducking’ Alex gained the lead role of Ugly and performed for a number of schools across Hampshire and later to sell out audiences at Fareham College. Whilst performing Alex still kept on top of his studies with his aspiration to be a Sound Engineer on-board a Cruise Ship. Having travelled many times with his parents on-board a number of different cruise ships Alex fell in love with the traveling and ship lifestyle never knowing that once he had completed his studies he would be employed by the world famous Cunard Cruise line. Alex’s professional career as a technician has taken him too many different places across the world. In 2008 Alex started his own company providing sound and lighting sales, hire and installation services to a number of clients across the south. Alex regularly ravels to many different theatres and studio spaces across the country assisting with shows and also designing and supplying equipment for installation. Having left college in July 2009 and achieving Distinction in all areas of his course Alex quickly gained work at Cunard Cruise Line in September 2009 onboard the world famous Queen Mary 2 as a stage technician. Whilst onboard Alex would regularly socialise with many different musicians, singers, dancers and guest entertainers often asking about their careers and how they got to their current position. In February 2010 Alex got the chance to perform in ‘Stars in Your Eyes’ to passengers and crew as Frank Sinatra onboard Queen Mary 2 in the Royal Court Theatre. Backed by a 9 piece orchestra Alex performed a Frank Sinatra classic ‘Come Fly With Me’ to an audience of over a 1000 guests and crew. Now at the age of 21 Alex has returned from the QM2 to focus on his musical career. Having performed a number of times onboard QM2 for passengers and crew and also in local shows Alex is devoted to his career in the entertainment industry both as a performer and musician and hopes to be performing near you.
